Salman protégé shatters size zero culture, Sonakshi Sinha
Salman protégé shatters size zero culture, Sonakshi Sinha: Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai had all gone reed thin for their respective films ‘Tees Maar Khan’, ‘Tashan’ and ‘Dhoom 2’. In fact, Bollywood was reeling under the size zero trend and every young girl was plagued by it.
But finally, actress Sonakshi Sinha has broken this mould and has established herself as an A-list actress who can make it big without getting wafer thin. She made a fantastic debut in Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’ where her fuller, rounder and voluptuous figure was well accepted by the masses.
In fact, she epitomised the traditional Indian girl look with her full figure and brought voluptuousness back into the business.
And Sonakshi feigns no modesty and takes full credit for this. Though, she never set out to spawn a fashion trend, she has unintentionally ended up doing so. And she is pretty proud of breaking the size zero culture.
She cites that she has received accolades for her full-figured Indian look and she is extremely happy with her body. She has no desire to cut that flab and is more than content with her meaty body.
After all, Indian men have often desired fuller women and Sonakshi is a perfect heroine material in that regard.

Sonakshi Sinha looking to break the 'Salman jinx'
Sonakshi Sinha looking to break the 'Salman jinx': Svelte Sonakshi Sinha looks to have finally broken Bollywood's ' Salman Khan jinx'. While no other actress who debuted opposite Salman Khan had managed to make it big in Hindi films, Shotgun's pretty daughter has not only been flooded with offers since Dabangg became a blockbuster, but she is also rumoured to be charging more than ` 1 crore per film.
To begin with, Sonakshi starts shooting for Shirish Kunder's 3D extravaganza Joker with Akshay Kumar in January. This will be followed by the multi- starrer Race 2 , for which directors Abbas- Mustan have preferred her to Kareena Kapoor, despite the film's hero Saif Ali Khan reportedly insisting that his girlfriend be cast in the film. Up next will be Kick, an action- comedy costarring Salman, and Prabhu Deva's upcoming Akshay Kumar- starrer.
Rumours are also doing the rounds that Sonakshi could be one of the heroines in Sajid Khan's Housefull 2. Kunal Kohli wants to cast her in his next film starring Shahid Kapoor.
Anurag Basu is also considering Sonakshi for his upcoming film, Barfee , starring Ranbir Kapoor.
It's not every day in Bollywood that an actress who is just one- film- old is flooded with so many offers from top banners. " Her confidence sets her apart. Everyone has noted the fact that although Dabangg was her first film and she was paired with a superstar of Salman Khan's stature, she showed no signs of nervousness. She has no camera fright," said Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap.
" Being a star's daughter definitely gave her a headstart compared to other newcomers. It means she was considered for high- profile projects and got more leeway. It remains to be seen how she cashes in on the advantage.
However, if producers are willing to shell out over a crore for the onefilm- old Sonakshi, that says a lot," an industry insider said.
Salman is known to promote new talent. However, every newcomer who has made her debut opposite the superstar has somehow never managed to survive in Bollywood.
Turn back the clock, and you realise that Bhagyashree, despite her blockbuster debut in Maine Pyar Kiya , never quite succeeded in chalking out a career in Bollywood. After the Sooraj Barjatya superhit and her now- defunct marriage to flop actor Himalaya, Bhagyashree tried several comebacks in films as well as on TV but none have had any impact.
Similarly, Naghma, Salman's debutant co- star in Baaghi failed to make an impact in Bollywood. Subsequently, she did small roles in films such as Yalgaar and King Uncle before becoming a superstar in Tamil cinema.
Industry experts feel the pattern is a result of the fact that Salman's films hardly ever leave any scope for his actresses, especially newcomers.
That's likely what happened to Chandni as well. In 1991, Salman starred opposite debutant Chandni in Sanam Bewafa . The Saawan Kumar- directed film, despite being a superhit, didn't help Chandni's career and she slipped into oblivion.
" In his ( Salman's) films, girls mostly don't get strong roles. They only have to dance and look pretty," said filmmaker Jag Mundhra.
Sonakshi seems to have broken the jinx that the likes of Bhagyashree, Naghma and Chandni couldn't.

Sonakshi Sinha's demand rising in B-town
Sonakshi Sinha's demand rising in B-town: Sonakshi Sinha is the flavour of the season. 2011 looks like a terrific year for this star kid. She starts to shoot Joker with Akshay Kumar early in the year.
She joins the unit of Race-2 in July with Saif Ali Khan and then goes into Kick with Salman Khan. Rumours say that she is also kicked about the fact that she is being considered for Kunal Kohli's film with Shahid Kapoor, Prabhu Devaa's film with the Khiladi Kumar...and wait there is more. We now hear that Sonakshi may be seen in Anurag Basu's film Silence (the title is being changed shortly) alongwith Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
Yup, this is the same film that Katrina Kaif turned down because she felt that Piggy Chops had a better role than her. Neither Sonakshi nor her manager are willing to comment on her films with Shahid and Ranbir. But the industry is buzzing with the news already.

Sonakshi Sinha tweets about swimsuit buzz!
Sonakshi Sinha tweets about swimsuit buzz!: Performing artist Sonakshi Sinha took to Twitter to illuminate that she has not posed in a swimsuit for the blanket of Maxim magazine.
This foreswearing comes exactly as photographs of Sonakshi in a white two-piece showed up on the Internet and were distributed on the India Today web page. Yet, the Maxim magazine blanket in reality shows Sonakshi wearing a dark dress.
Sonakshi wrote on Twitter, “Quite shocked to see India Today carrying an article on me appearing on Maxim in a bikini!! Yeah right”
“These guys generally have their facts and figures right!
Got the fact that I'm on Maxim right, but the figure (pun intended) completely wrong! Would've been smart if they checked out the magazine before writing whatever they felt like. It's not about me anymore but about their credibility,” she added.
Even though Sonakshi is set to shed her image of a simple village girl (from Dabangg) in her upcoming films, she has time and again stated that she will not wear revealing clothes to gain popularity.
Evidently miffed by the incident, Sonakshi adds, “I wouldve let it pass if my family was not dragged into it. The journalist in question, being a woman, shouldve realised that respectability and family values are not to be tampered with. Especially not mine.”

Sonakshi Sinha will lose her weight like Katrina as ‘Sheila’!: Sonakshi Sinha will again lose weight to look fit and toned in her following with Akshay Kumar. Do we perceive an additional ‘Sheila’ in the making?
We expressed ‘again’ resulting from the fact that the youngster gave up her hankering to a strict eating methodology regime to get into shape for Dabangg; the impulse obviously, hailed from Salman Khan. Sonakshi has signed Joker with Akki and that will be directed by Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder. As a source is quoted by a tabloid, “Her role demands a fit and toned body. She has begun her workouts with Yasmin as preparation for the movie.”

Sonakshi Sinha set Rs 1 crore for one film!
Sonakshi Sinha set Rs 1 crore for one film!: The luck of Dabangg has worked miracles for this starlet. Now we catch Sonakshi Sinha has raised her transacting charge to Rs 1 crore.
With the hike, Sonakshi has joined the league of highest paid actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.
The actress has apparently taken an advance payment of Rs 91 lakh for one of her upcoming projects. Industrywallahs are finding it hard to digest this fact, as Sonakshi is just one-movie old. A trade analyst is quoted as saying by a daily, “Since Sonakshi has kept herself exclusive only to big hero projects, the girl’s market price is being negotiated very carefully.”
Yes, Sonakshi’s next film is with Salman Khan, to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and another is Joker, which will be made on a whopping sum because it’s going to be in 3D. Sonakshi will work with Akshay Kumar in the film.
It’s said that no other newbie hiked her fee so astronomically as Sonakshi has, even considering the likes of Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, or Kangana Ranaut.
